Today is the 160th day of school! Count by tens to 100 and then count by tens to 60! We reached another group of 10! *If we were using our straws to count, we would have 100 straws rubber band together in the hundreds column and 6 groups of 10 (60 straws) in the tens column.
Guess what? There are only 20 days of school left until summer. Let's do a count down from 20 starting today! The Big Number Song

PHONICS/ PHONEMIC AWARENESS: OPTIONAL: May Morning Work Literacy page 11 and page 12 *On literacy page 11 and 12, one section says to color the short /a/ and /e/ words in red and the long a and e words in blue. We have learned short /a/ and short /e/ vowel sound. In K, we do not teach that vowels say their own name as well (long vowel sound). Long a and e sounds say their name. Example: bag- short a, rake- long a web- short e, tree- long e
This week you will learn TWO new letters/sounds. Your two new sounds are /y/ and /z/.
