coping skill is a tool that helps you when you feel really big emotions. 
Just like a tool box has many different tools, we can have many ways that help us calm down when our emotions get really big!
Coping skills are important because they help us control our emotions, thoughts and actions. When we are faced with a problem or challenge and feel frustrated, angry, or upset, coping skills can help us feel more calm. 

Choose some coping strategies to help you if you are having a tough day. 
-Take deep breaths
-Do a positive activity
-Think of something funny
-Take a quick walk
-Practice yoga
-Stand up and stretch
-Listen to music
-Take a break
-Slowly count to ten
-Use positive self talk 
-Say something kingd to yourself or someone else
-Talk to a family member or friend
-Close your eyes and relax
-Say "I can do this"
-Picture yourself in your favorite place
-Think of something happy
-Dance
-Think of someone you love
-Eat a healthy snack
-Doodle on paper
-Jog in place
-Write in a journal
-Color a coloring page
-Play with clay
