Good morning!
Happy St. Patrick's Day.
I hope you have a fun day.

Below are your e-learning activities for today:
Please note that this can be spread throughout the day and is not meant to be done in one sitting or in any particular order.

Teach someone at home the March song and the Tuesday song. Spring will be here in 2 more days (Thursday, March 19th)

What kind of weather is it today?  Does it feel cooler or warmer than yesterday?

Reading Workshop-
Set a timer for 8 minutes.  Read the books in your book pouch.  Remember to use your reading strategies to help sound out unknown words.  Use your pictures and words (sounds) to help too.  If you tried and are still stuck on a word please ask for help.

Find and write three popcorn words you read today.

Pick one of your books.  What was your favorite part of the story?  Why?

Writing Workshop-
Write a friendly letter to a leprechaun. What do you want to tell him?  What would you like to ask him?  Use 1 telling sentence with a period and one asking sentence with a question mark. Use your word list ring like a word wall to help you write words we have learned. Pound out (break into syllables) bigger words. ie- wa - ter - mel -on  Try your best to sound out words by yourself like we do in class.

Math -
*Pick 1 activity from the Math Choice Board (you can record your answers on paper or in a notebook)
*Pick 1 page from the Leprechaun Math packet sent home.
*Check out my learning videos page and view 1 or more math video
*Today is day 118 - it's counting time - find someone or more than one person and make counting circle - you always start - you may start with number 1 or any number you choose and count to see who will get to today's number -118.  Then you can play again and count by 10's.

Literacy -
Phonics -
What sound does /Bb/ say?  Name 3 things that begin with Bb.
What sound does /Ff/ say?  Name 3 things that begin with Ff.
What sound does /ch/ say? Name 3 things that begin with ch.

Word Building -
Get a paper from your folder (with the numbers listed to 5 and cut it in half- you only need one side)  Listen to these words and get ready to pound and write them for me...Remember to write neatly and think about your letters (i.e.- letter b is first a bat and then a ball, d is a magic c letter, and your g should break the rule and go below the line) A parent will say these words to you...
1. bug
2. chin
3. fat
4. hop
5. jam

*On the back (hold paper long ways now) you will write this sentence.  Listen closely and pound it out.  I will go to bed. (your child should repeat it and pound each word and then write)  When finished ask, Did you start with an uppercase letter? Did you have a period at the end.

*Watch the -ch learning video on my page.

Sight Words -
Open the sight word slideshow and read each word.  Stop if it gets tricky.

Pick two or three words and tell someone a sentence (orally).  How many words are in your sentence?  Count it out on your fingers.

Red Words -
Did you hang up your Red Word chart? Grab a wooden spoon or spatula from the kitchen and read and "load" your red words on your chart.  Teach them to your stuffies.
